Dillon, Ltd is a mid-market merger, acquisition and investment banking firm serving family businesses with value up to $100 million. As Managing Director, Tom is a full service business coach with all the resources necessary to help owners increase earnings organically, grow asset value through acquisition, and develop and implement an exit/transition strategy for maximum value.
For fourteen years prior to joining Dillon, Mr. McCoy managed a consulting practice for privately owned businesses. He specialized in the development and deployment of strategy aimed at building value in the business and preparing it for transition.
Speaking and Publication
Tom often speaks to the chapters of the International Association Financial Planners (IAFP). He is a frequent keynote speaker at annual conferences, business meetings and national association meetings such as the National Bankers Association, the Institute of Management and Administration (IOMA), the International Association of Financial Planners.
He is the author of two books published by the American Management Association. These books focus on how to prepare a company for transition by engaging the employees in the business.
- Compensation and Motivation is used as a text book at Florida State University in the Advanced Topics in Performance Management studies.
- Creating an "Open-Book" Organization was nominated for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) "Book of the Year" award and translated into German.
He was nominated for the Michael R. Losey Research Award based on his work in the field of human resources. He was featured in the Wall Street Journal, quoted in Newsweek, and taught a continuing education course at George Washington University. He designed a two day seminar on Creating a High Performance Culture sponsored by the American Management Association.
He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, a member of MENSA, and a member on the Board of Directors for Executive Agents, Inc.
Tom enjoys golf, sailing, hunting and the theater. He is a Red Cross volunteer, a supporter of the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired and participates in fundraising for Rockhurst High School.
